Rigo Brueck – May 13th 2011

Please join us when Rigo Brueck, Ph.D., LMFT presents, “Neuropsychotherapy – Integrating Neuroscience & Psychotherapy.”   Neuroscience has added much to our knowledge of the brain and the part it plays in mental health. It has also challenged many long and dearly held theories about psychotherapy, especially what works and how. The strong emphasis on biology and science has on one hand produced more questions, tensions, and insecurities for patients and providers. On the other hand it creates the possibility for a “new” perspective in the conceptualization of mental health, psychopathology, and psychotherapy that generates new degrees of freedom and flexibility in the therapeutic work for both clinicians and clients.  What challenges do these developments pose for Christian mental health professionals?  How can we bear witness to the risen Jesus and the truth revealed in the bible with our lives and our service in a professional field where research is shaking the foundations of our understanding of personality itself?

Rigo earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Freiburg, Germany. He has trained and worked with leading experts in the field of addiction, trauma, depression, and borderline personality disorder inGermany,Spain, and theUS and is certified in numerous evidence based treatment protocols.  Currently he works as an LMFT at North Coast Church Counseling Center in Vista.
